Mother’s Day Gift Ideas

With Mother’s Day right around the corner, I am sure you are thinking of the perfect gift to give her. Flowers are nice, but can be impersonal. You can give her a fantastic thoughtful gift that doesn’t have to be expensive. You could put together a mix CD of some of her favorite songs or artists, or even make her favorite dish or dessert. Try making her a cake this year instead of buying one. The key is: the more personal, the bigger and better the reaction.

Mother’s tend to be very proud of their children and family, so you could always make her a scrap book of family memories or a photo magnet to place on the refrigerator. Decorations are also a great low cost and beautiful way of making a wonderful impact. Get streamers and balloons and decorate the house in her favorite colors. There is no end to what you can do creatively to show mom how much you truly care.

Try thinking of things your mother really enjoys and make it into a theme! For example, my mother absolutely loves drinking tea. I found this great and inexpensive themed tea party package that comes with everything included. It has invites, teacups and saucers, decorations, several specialty teas to try, plates, napkins, candles, and more! My plan is to create a fun family get together, where we can enjoy a nice adult tea party atmosphere. It even has a British-royal feel; which is great considering the recent and epic Royal Wedding, my mother is enthralled with. If tea parties aren’t your mother’s thing, there also options to make a nice spa party (who doesn’t like the spa?), or even a luau. Remember: mom’s like to have fun too! So make it an event everyone can enjoy even if it is on a small-scale.

I hope this helps. Have a good mother’s day!
