How to Plan Family Reunion
The participant of a family reunion goes from the grand parents, any living great grand parent, parents, siblings and cousins up to the fourth degree.
Families usually held reunions during summer. Some families held their reunion on a regular basis, like yearly. The host is being assigned on each year. This could be a big event for every one. And since it is a big family event, preparations can be very daunting. Here are the tips on planning a family reunion.
Create a goal. It is important to have a goal on any tasks we undertake. It gives us the direction to yield on an excellent result. So, ask yourself, what do you intend to accomplish on this reunion? Perhaps your goal is make the members of the family closer to each other. Perhaps your goal is to make the reunion fun and entertaining. Or, perhaps you want to make the family reunion memorable. You want a reunion that will be remembered by every one even as years pass by. Remember that your plan will be geared towards your goal.
Know each member of the family. Make an extra effort to know each member of the family. Each of them should be properly informed. You should decide who among the lists have a role to perform and who are simply attending the event.
Record all contact information. Gather their personal information like home and business address, home phone number, cellular phone number and the e-mail address. In short, gather all contact information for easy communication with them.
Call for a meeting. Meet those who will work on the reunion. There should be a survey on the budget, work dissemination, foods, location, registration, entertainment, prizes and more.
Set a specific date, time and location. Schedule the reunion on a day where 90% of the attendees could attend. This date should have been agreed upon by the organizers and the participants. Select a location where there are large parking areas. Once schedule and location is set, create a map of the venue. This is going to be the guide of all the participants and attendees.
Arrange the activities. The activities should be applicable for all ages. Remember that your attendee ranges from great grandparent up to the youngest child of the family. Activities include games, dancing, karaoke night and more. Prepare the awards for the games as well.
Record the event. It is very important to record this event. It is great if you have a photographer invited. You can also hire some one who is willing to video record the event. Or better if there is a family member who is wiling to record this momentous event.
Planning a family reunion could be exhausting. However, such effort is paid off as soon as you see the result of your hard efforts. Above all, your contribution is a permanent part of family memory.
